BASIC FUNCTION:



The Senior Infrastructure Engineer III will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's network, cloud, data center, connected devices - such as cameras, way-finding displays, and the like, support and vendor management. This position reports directly to the Manager, IT Infrastructure in the Office of Information Technology Services.





DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

  • Manage and maintain the cloud and data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and backup systems.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot connected devices, such as cameras, way-finding displays, and the like.

  • Provide support to end-users and other IT teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and implement infrastructure projects and upgrades.

  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for infrastructure-related services and products.

  • Develop and implement infrastructure policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the security, availability, and reliability of infrastructure services.

  • Maintain business partner relationships with a portfolio of assigned organizational units to understand their needs within this responsibility domain and meet their requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.





REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:




EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Arts or Sciences with preference for significant background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields, OR equivalent experience.




EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure management, preferably in higher education.




LICENSES: Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the College's automobile insurance carrier.




REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:



  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, data center infrastructure, and connected devices.

  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds and VMware vSphere.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the College or division. Some evening and/or weekend work may be required to support campus programs and activities. Occasional requirements to work outside of standard business hours may be required to ensure timely responsiveness to our college community.




APPROXIMATE SALARY RANGE:




$90,000 - $100,000 PER YEAR

LASSIFICATION AND STATUS:


This is a full-time, 12-month year-round, exempt-level, benefits-eligible position.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment include reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. May occasionally lift/push/pull items up to 20 lbs.
