Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Adult Day Center Registered Nurse - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Independently assesses and evaluates health of adult day center participants.
Provides care and treatment and counsels for minor illnesses and injuries, exercising independent judgement following guidelines.
Documents all patient findings and nursing actions in the participant chart and other records as appropriate.
Maintains confidentiality of records and of individuals' personal health information at all times.
Assists with medication management as needed.
Performs treatments and procedures ordered by a physician or nurse practitioner.
Implements emergency procedures as needed.
Provides case management and follow-up for participants and caregivers, providing health education, assessment, nutrition education, promotion of safe caregiving, and prevention of illness and injury.
Administers medications following guidelines and as ordered by a physician or an advanced registered nurse practitioner.
Assist with maintaining supply levels in the center and with the maintenance of equipment in sanitary and operative condition.
Assists with participant activities of daily living as needed.
Assists with daily flow of participant activities and Center operations.
Assists with group and individual activities, answers telephones, gives appropriate information, and counsels participants and caregivers using professional and independent judgement.
Assumes responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor ensuring proper functions of the Center.
Attends staff meetings and family conferences as scheduled and serves on Ad Hoc Committees as necessary.
