Bachelor's degree in higher education, student activities and programming, or a related field. Two years of experience in professional higher educational settings or in a related field. Demonstrated experience in large-and small-scale program development, as well as executing various theory-based student development programs, is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Assists the Director of Campus Activities & Traditions with managing the Campus Activities Board. Manages day-to-day operations of Campus Activities Board programming and student development initiatives for the board. Performs highly advanced administrative and supervisory program work to include directly supervising the campus activities board student staff. Coordinates board events and activities for the University; coordinates collaborative programs with entities across campus. Provides administrative support to other areas of programming within the department.
Supports the Campus Activities Board with event planning, budget assistance, assessment and implementation of events. Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations. Accountable for the execution and follow-through of complex and technical responsibilities. Under the direction of the Director, plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors student programs. Assists with all marketing pertaining to campus activities board programs. Serves as a resource person and liaison advisor to students, faculty, and staff, as well as campus entities on matters of collaborative programming. Confers with staff on program issues and problems. Monitors Campus Activities Board programming budget, accounts, and expenditures. Under the direction of the Director, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates programs, programming board selection, training workshops, and meetings involving Campus Activities & Traditions. Coordinates, compiles, and evaluates data received from a variety of sources relating to the effectiveness of the assigned activity, program, or project. Directs assignments of student staff and determines work priorities and evaluates progress and deadlines. Recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Assists in planning and coordinating events for The Woodlands Center and the College of Osteopathic Medicine- travel required. Oversees the work of assigned board staff. Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities such as Bingo Night, Takeover, Monthly Campus Activities Board events, and other events as created or assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Proven ability to cultivate effective relationships, both internally and externally, while bringing innovative ideas and a fresh perspective to programming.
Working hours may vary as required including evening and weekends.
The position requires driving and operating a university vehicle. Therefore, a valid Texas driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University's insurance carrier is required.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
