Litigation Associate - Antitrust at Locke Lord in Washington, Washington DC

Job Description:

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Litigation associate position in the Antitrust Practice Group. The position will be based in our Washington D.C. office. Ideal candidates must have 5-7 years of prior associate-level experience handling cases related to antitrust laws and regulations. The associate will have experience in general litigation, handling hearings, depositions, as well as drafting motions.



Essential Functions



Candidates for Associate positions must be able to provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys.



Associates are routinely required to:

• Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis in pleadings, memoranda, and other written documents.
  
  


• Advise on compliance with antitrust laws and regulations.
  
  


• Draft pleadings and other case documents.
  
  


• Attend hearings.
  
  


• Manage matters from commencement to final resolution.
  
  


• Competently and professionally communicate with clients and supervising attorneys.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  
  


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  
  


• Strong organization and matter management skills.
  
  


• Ability to work professionally and effectively with Clients, Partners, Associate and Support Staff.
  
  


• Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
  
  


• Familiarity with and ability to prepare basic and complex litigation documents.
  
  


• Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices.
  
  


• Federal judicial clerkship or antitrust enforcement experience a plus.
  
  


• Clear and effective drafting skills.
  
  

Requirements



Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Washington D.C.


The expected base salary range for Washington D.C. candidates in this position is $300,000 - $340,000. Actual base salary will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's class year, years of experience, skills, qualifications, office location and anticipated annual billable hour targets (1850 hours annually versus 1950 annually).
