About the role
Plenty is looking for a Sanitation and Custodial Technician to join our Farm Operations team. The Farm Operations team ensures that our produce and work areas are food and worker safe. Your skills and training will be applied to a new and innovative indoor vertical farming environment growing and harvesting strawberries! This role is located onsite in our Chester, VA location.
What you'll do
Execute sanitation schedule: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Semi-Annual and Annually
Sanitize and clean machines and machine parts using chemicals, high pressure hoses, spraying and scrubbing
Reassemble machines as necessary
Sanitize plant floors, drains, walls, and shelves
Use of industrial chemicals as needed
Perform record keeping and data tracking; responsible for completing the plant's Master Sanitation Schedule
Collect and remove trash and recycling
Clean of shared work office spaces
Wear required and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
100% adherence to all company established chemical, safety and cleaning policies, practices, and procedures
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Continuously improve the sanitation process
Comply with and follows company food safety and quality policies
Other duties as assigned. Schedules will be reviewed periodically and are subject to change based on business needs
What you'll bring to the table
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of related work experience maintaining and cleaning workspaces
Understanding of chemical safety and chemical handling procedures
Basic computer skills required
Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups
Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including electronically
Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to work occasional overtime and on weekends as needed
Ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks at once
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
