Ultimate Staffing has partnered with a local non-profit organization seeking an experienced HR Onboarding Assistant to join their team in a hybrid role based in Laurel, MD. The ideal candidate will have a dedicated background in onboarding and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role focuses exclusively on managing the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, including conducting background checks, reference checks, verification of certifications, and completing new hire paperwork
Ensure that all required new hire paperwork is complete and accurate prior to orientation.
Prepare and distribute onboarding materials such as employee handbooks and benefits information
Set up new employees in HRIS and other internal systems, ensuring all information is accurate and complete
Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during the onboarding process, addressing any questions or concerns
Collaborate with various departments (IT, Payroll, Benefits) to ensure new hires have the necessary tools and resources for a smooth start
Monitor the onboarding process and continuously identify ways to improve efficiency and the new hire experience
Maintain detailed onboarding records to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a dedicated onboarding role, with a track record of successfully managing onboarding processes
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in HRIS and onboarding software
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
