Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor's instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Assist Supervisor in day-to-day operations of the blending operation. Primary tasks include department set-up; ensure production, FSQA and HACCP requirements are met in area. Assist supervisor with monitoring product codes, yields, mechanical issues with machinery and product issues. Other responsibilities include relieving line personnel as needed, fill-in for absenteeism as necessary, wash down as needed, and insure general housekeeping. This person will also help the supervisor with paperwork during and at the end of the shift. Ultimately, this person helps the supervisor in the overall operations of the department. This position has a start rate $25.18
Shifts are:
1st: 6am-2pm
2nd: 2pm-10pm
3rd: 10pm-6am
*Team members are expected to work over or come in before there assigned shifts in the case of call-outs, etc.
Responsibilities
Supervision of team members in department
Ensuring correct ingredients and amounts are used in the department
Loading the product from the mixing platform to the line
Raking and distributing product evenly into bins and through the roller
Replenishing the roller with dough as needed
Recording weights of product throughout the shift
Using various lifts to move ingredients and materials throughout the plant
Using the pallet jack to move tubs as needed
Ensuring forklift batteries are charged and changed
Help with keeping the warehouse organized and clean
Monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed
Notifying supervisors if machines require maintenance
Filling out various log sheets
Filling in for team members who are absent
Scanning product and bar codes into the system (Collecting and Creating tickets)
Communicating with supervision to ensure proper creation of granola bars
Communicating any and all mechanical issues to supervision
Moving materials and product
Inspecting quality of product
Weighing pre-packaged products
Loading boxes or other containers into pallets
General cleaning of workspaces; sweeping, dusting and use of compressed air
Other duties as needed
Requirements
Able to work overtime on short notice
Must be willing and able to work at a fast work pace consisting mainly of repetitive physical motion.
Must be willing to work 8-12-hour shifts and up to six days a week, standing at all times: mostly in the same position / place.
Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 50 pounds regularly.
Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
Must be willing to withstand working in warm environments (sometimes exceeding 90+ degrees)
Must be willing to work in close parameters to other employees (standing next to each other).
Less than 4 attendance points
No written warning within the last 6 months
No safety or GMP violations within the last 6 months
Preferred Requirements
Experience working in the mixing area
Experience working with SAP
