The Student Worker for Student Success and Retention provides in person and virtual customer service and administrative support for Student Success and Retention. This position is responsible to the Student Retention Manager and the Senior Student Retention Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Provide virtual and personal assistance to students, community members and staff in the areas of scheduling appointments, greeting and screening in person students/visitors for all of Student Development at the Sugar Grove Campus, and knowledge of college-wide information.
Support Student Success and Retention outreach efforts to students, including supporting call and appointment campaigns.
Assist the Senior Student Retention Coordinator with scheduling of virtual and in person appointments.
Maintain knowledge of department practices and procedures, as well as college policies and guidelines including student privacy policies (FERPA).
Reach out to continuing Waubonsee students and connect them with services as appropriate - primarily through phone calls and emails.
Assist with data entry and spreadsheet management for retention initiatives and division reporting.
Provide in-person navigation at the second floor Student Center lobby desk
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Have submitted a FAFSA and qualify for the Federal Work Study program.
A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.
18 years old or older.
Be in good standing with Student Conduct.
Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with databases, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs. Experience with basic webpage maintenance, scheduling systems and CRM desired.
Solid written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information, work cooperatively and relate to others at all levels in a professional and friendly manner.
Adept at multitasking and adapt to changing priorities and learning of new technologies.
