Michael Baker International is seeking a detail-oriented professional to be a member of our Federal Business Development team. The Federal Business Development Associate will be responsible for researching and analyzing federal markets, opportunities, and competitive position to support market growth. The role includes supporting the federal sales team, maintaining client account plans, managing a contract/task order data, and supporting the ongoing development of new business practices. The successful candidate will manage federal business development efforts with responsibilities including but not limited to:


  • Federal market research of DoD and Federal Civilian agencies including tracing data on major federal budgets.
  • Provide analysis and reports to federal team obtained from various sources like GovWin data, Industry Day briefings and Client forecasts.
  • Identification of business opportunities and upcoming solicitations, including new contracts, re-competes and stand-alone projects.
  • Research of competitive firms and teaming partners.
  • Maintain Federal Sales Funnel, review for accuracy and provide trend analysis.
  • Provide data needed for SF330's and similar proposals.
  • Develop and maintain database for existing contracts and task orders to include award and expiration dates, status, competitor data and remaining contract capacity.
  • Work with federal team to help make informed investment decisions that align with federal agency budgets and funding flow down.
  • Maintain centralized accumulation of CPARS data and provide analysis.
  • General support to the entire federal sales organization.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in federal market research, AEC industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with the AEC industry and Standard Form 330
  • Familiarity with federal markets and how they are funded, including Department of Defense and Federal Civilian Agencies
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with GovWin, USA Spend, CPARS and other government websites.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Thorough understanding of federal contracts, federal procurement, and relevant purchasing methods.
  • Strong data analytics and data management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong ability to analyze data and translate into effective business strategy.

COMPENSATION

The compensation range for this position is $93,844-$147,818 and will depend on the incoming candidates' skills and experience.
