The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing preventative and emergency health services and wellness education to students. This role involves evaluating and recommending appropriate medical, mental health, and dental services for the student population while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA laws. The LPN works closely with the Wellness Director to coordinate services and maintain a clean and organized environment within Wellness Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide first aid treatment and bedside patient care
Assist in coordinating medical, mental, and dental services for students
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable laws regarding patient privacy
Conduct cursory medical examinations for students as allowed by state practice law
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals
Mentor and model Career Success Standards as required
Communicate effectively with students and staff, both orally and in writing
Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions
Collaborate with staff from all departments to provide effective supervision and services

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. LPN Certification from an accredited program and a valid, active, unrestricted in-state license to practice as an LPN required. A minimum of one year of health care experience preferred. Regional Approval required.
