The UHealth System at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Accounts Payable



SUMMARY



The Supervisor, Accounts Payable oversees department staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions. Moreover, the incumbent supervises monthly entries, monthly accounting close, and internal controls maintenance in support of the organization's financial goals and objectives.



CORE JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Provides leadership and expertise on the processing, recording, and reporting of accounts payable transactions to ensure proper coding.


  • Oversees internal relations, disbursement, 1099, and tax related matters.


  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates staff involved in the accounts payable process.


  • Makes decisions regarding daily priorities for a work group.


  • Establishes and administers the accounts payable monthly close process.


  • Acts as department subject matter expert for accounts payable issues.


  • Processes journal entries to the general ledger for accounts payable related adjustments.


  • Assists with the execution of quarterly reviews and year-end financial audits.


  • Looks for ways to improve the accounts payable and accounting process.


  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.


  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS




Education:



Bachelor's Degree in relevant field



Experience:


Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
