Job Summary:
This Senior Application Designer position will provide application and technical leadership for Data Integration products within Caterpillar IT. The incumbent will have product ownership of Application to Application (A2A) tools and services as well as maintaining security risk and compliance responsibilities. They will engage with business partners, developers, and support teams to provide integration services for a wide variety of projects and business needs. The selected candidate will also be a key team member of the A2A Data Integration team, participating in strategic decisions that shape the landscape and services provided to Caterpillar. This role reports to an Information Technology Manager.
What You Will Do:
Perform an active, leading role in shaping and enhancing the overall product(s) architecture
Managed incoming demand requests for supported applications and services, and provide proposals to business partners
Ensure solution designs adhere to product architectural standards
Communicate and promote adoption of practices and standards within development teams
Lead team developers in resolution of challenging product design and development issues
Collaborate with vendor product development teams and senior designers to develop requirements to influence new features within supported products
Collaborate with support team to maintain up to date Disaster Recovery plan, manage technical debt, and manage access to tools and databases
Manage and validate firewall rules, as well as monthly Offer to Sell needs for respective tools
Generate spend folders for license agreements and ensure appropriate pool of licenses are maintained
Collaborate with process partners on best practice implementations that are mutually beneficial
What You Have:
DataPower Experience
Computer science educational background and strong experience in IT-related field
Strong experience with Administration, configuring and troubleshooting Data Power tool
Experience in design and implement security and access plans for APIs
Demonstrated technical knowledge of software, servers, storage, network (load balancers and firewalls)
Understanding of systems architecture and security for internal and external communication
Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed
Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
Strong communication and business engagement skill

MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO THIS LOCATION AND Work out of the office 3 times a week.
This position may require 10% travel.
