ROLE SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the manager, the Quality Improvement Technician - Parts Collection Center will investigate vehicle parts quality issues arising from reported market defects, complete reproduction tasks and investigation activities, and facilitate information sharing with Fast Action & Solution Team (FAST), Subaru of America (SOA), and Subaru Corporation (SBR). Focuses on conducting reproducibility verification and detailed investigations of market return parts to promptly resolve quality issues.

Collaborates with Subaru of America (SOA), Subaru Corporation (SBR), and other relevant stakeholders to promptly resolve chassis- and body-related quality issues invehicles sold in North America.
Consults with Manager based on market information to consider optimal reproduction methods and follows the reproduction work plan that is established by Manager.
Uses appropriate means to reproduce customer-reported issues with parts returned to the Parts Collection Center (PCC) as per the work plan. This entails installing returned parts on a vehicle or cleaning or analyzing a part; may also need to complete activities such as driving a vehicle, restoring a vehicle or part to its original condition, measuring data, and taking photography. Uses automotive technical knowledge to complete tasks effectively.
Summarizes the reproduced conditions and results in a report.
Based on the obtained results, sends parts to suppliers, Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA), and SBR for further detailed investigations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Gathers information early on assigned quality issues to expedite resolution.
Contacts market-related individuals to collect information and obtain necessary details.
Required Responsibilities:
Basic knowledge of Subaru vehicles.
At least two (2) to four (4) years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance, including both light and heavy maintenance (engine and CVT disassembly/assembly).
Proficiency in vehicle part disassembly, assembly, and related skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced team environment.
Computer skills, with a focus on Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access, and the ability to create reports and databases.
Capability to foster cross-functional teamwork.
Ability to have cultural awareness and understanding, particularly of Japanese culture.
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications preferred.
Education/Experience Requirements: 2 Year Degree (AA, AS) or 10 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree
Physical Demands: Can perform light mechanical duties similar to an automotive technician.
May be required to lift moderately heavy automotive components up to 50 lbs.
Travel Required: 10% may include weekends work and occasional overseas travel

Compensation: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $55,800.00 to $70,000.00/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
