JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Are you ready to elevate your career at the top pediatric hospital in the country? As an Analyst II on our Epic Beaker team, you'll play a vital role in driving healthcare innovations and optimizing patient care. You'll work alongside world-class teams in a cutting-edge environment, supporting solutions that directly impact patient care, registration, scheduling, and billing processes-all at the nation's top pediatric institution.


In this exciting role, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing Cincinnati Children's expanding laboratory services. The Beaker/LIS team currently supports 25 performing labs, collection locations, school-based clinics, and mobile clinics. You will manage and maintain a complex environment that includes 23 external interfaces, which connect to state and federal government systems, and oversee 70+ integrated Point of Care devices and 500+ clinical instruments running assays-with 120 of those instruments interfaced to Epic Beaker.


As Cincinnati Children's continues to grow and expand its laboratory services, this role will be essential in maintaining the current system operations while supporting future expansion efforts. You will provide hands-on support to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of Beaker, ensuring patient care and clinical workflows remain uninterrupted.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Build/Configuration/Release Management:




  • Analyze, design, implement, and maintain complex systems to enhance clinical care and patient management.


  • Support system testing and document testing outcomes.


  • Drive process improvement initiatives.


  • Demonstrate advanced problem-solving and technical solution skills.


  • Utilize development lifecycle processes and standard operating procedures for system solutions.


  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts for system enhancements.


  • Lead strategy and innovation in clinical systems training and build environments to ensure relevance and usability.


  • Independently develop and mentor others in creating educational content for clinical systems.


  • Promote multivariate learning modalities to address the full adult learning spectrum and clinical education needs.





Leadership and Mentoring:




  • Take ownership of tasks with urgency and drive them to completion.


  • Work independently, escalating issues when appropriate.


  • Coordinate resources and communicate impacts to the user community.

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of new and enhanced EMR requests.


  • Develop and manage project plans and documentation for complex projects.

  • Prioritize assigned tasks and projects independently.


  • Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders.


  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure proper system integration.


  • Consult with end-users to develop and validate system solution requirements.


  • Collaborate with 3rd-party developers to review and address potential software development and integration issues.





Manage Customer Relationships:




  • Develop collaborative relationships with customer groups and key stakeholders.


  • Provide exceptional end-user support and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for incident management.


  • Collaborate with other areas to ensure customer-centered incident resolution.


  • Plan, execute, and support clinical system training and create expert educational materials.


  • Promote adherence to change management policies and procedures.


  • Maintain a strong sense of personal accountability and model excellent customer service behavior.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience


  • 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline





PREFERRED:



  • Epic Beaker Certification - Proficiency in both Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) and Anatomic Pathology (AP) modules.


  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) - Hands-on experience in implementing or supporting LIS platforms, particularly Epic Beaker.


  • Data Analysis and Reporting - Familiarity with tools like Crystal Reports, SQL, or Epic's Reporting Workbench to analyze lab data and generate reports.


  • Workflow Optimization - Expertise in analyzing, designing, and optimizing lab workflows using Beaker to improve efficiency and accuracy
