What we're looking for:
The Director Accounting Processes & Systems is a high-level leader that proactively oversees the systems and processes of the accounting department. This position is responsible for the daily management of the currently used accounting systems (BlackLine, SmartClose & Reporting Tools) and maintenance of the accounting reports. The Director requires a good understanding of all accounting processes to identify opportunities in automation or different reporting tool/system use. This role involves strategic planning, managing a team of accounting professionals, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
What you'll do:
Provide strategic leadership to the Accounting Processes & Systems team.
Supervise and manage a team of accounting professionals and analysts, providing guidance and mentorship.
Hold knowledge of our current SAP ERP system (S4Hana Finance), Accounting systems (BlackLine, SmartClose, CoStar, ...) and Reporting Tools (Excel, Power-BI, SAC, SSAS, AO,...)
Support and train the accounting teams on systems and reporting tools.
Support and coordinate with the Flooring North America & Mohawk Corporate IS teams.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting department with a focus on automation.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Contribute to the development of strategic financial goals and objectives.
Collaborate with senior management on financial strategies and planning.
Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Perform other duties as needed.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
10+ years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of management experience.
MBA preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
