The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the School of Graduate Studies is searching for a talented, dependable associate professor to join our growing faculty. The associate professor's primary responsibilities include teaching a requisite number of classes in multiple disciplines, providing guidance and supervision to students, participating in departmental meetings, and providing academic support to Professors and other faculty members. This position is a full-time faculty employment to support the Education, Research, and Academic Service in the Department. The prospective candidate is expected to teach multiple disciplines in the Master of Health Sciences and PhD programs; establish a sustainable research portfolio and serve in academic committees as deemed necessary. Initial appointment will include up to 85% teaching but the teaching load will be adjusted depending on the level of protected time required for research.
Daily Operations
Teaching
Teaching in multiple disciplines in the Master of Health Sciences and PhD Programs. The prospective candidate should have the aptitude to teach basic and advanced graduate courses in Physiology, Anatomy, and Pathology. S/he will report directly to the Director of the MHS program for MHS courses and to the Director of the PhD Program for graduate-level courses.
Teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students, answering questions in class or via email or telephone, and providing Department Chair with feedback on student progress.
Research
Develop an independent basic or community research program by writing grant proposals to secure funding for research. If this program is not developed by the end of year 3, teaching activities will increase to provide full salary effort.
Conduct research and publish papers in academic journals.
Attend faculty and departmental meetings and voice concerns or provide suggestions for improvement.
Service
The prospective candidate will report to the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences with faculty development, project development, and oversight of all aspects of education and academics.
Serve on School and Departmental committees, Committees on Instruction for PhD students, admission activities, curriculum development, and other committees as per the direction of the Chair and the Dean.
Assisting with various departmental duties and providing academic support on recruiting, training, and mentoring of teaching assistants and other junior staff.

Required Education and Experience
A Doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences (PhD, MD/Ph.D etc.) from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3-year postdoctoral fellowship and/or experience in teaching.
Proficiency with Google suite of products, MS Office, publishing software, etc.
Demonstrated commitment to student success and retention.
Evidence of expertise in written, spoken, and/or visual communication (writing sample required)
