A great opportunity for an aspiring candidate in the fields of formulation and process development to be part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Biologics Drug Product Development and Manufacturing group at Sanofi.
The candidate will work on developing and optimizing a spray drying platform for various novel modalities at Sanofi and will have the opportunity to interact with various experts in the areas of formulation and process development, manufacturing, technology transfer and data analytics across the global Sanofi network. The candidate will have the opportunity to present at scientific forums both internally and externally, and publish novel findings from the studies. The current position is contracted for a period of 24 months with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for the development and optimization of a robust and scalable spray drying platform for several modalities. As part of this overall goal, the candidate would be required to
Design an operation space for feasible drying of drug substance and other liquid modalities
Evaluate and extrapolate the impact of process parameters on the outcomes using statistical data modeling
Generate data for least two (2) scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals
Should be self-motivated and able to work closely with team members from different functional areas in a collaborative manner
Generate, document and compile data for team and senior management discussions and development reports

Basic Qualifications:
Must have permanent US work authorization
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry or a related discipline
Must be willing to relocate to our office location and work in a hybrid manner 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer thesis or academic/ industrial experience or background on the topic of spray drying of small or large molecules.
Expertise with the spray drying technique
Working knowledge of lipid nanoparticle (LNP), adeno-associated virus (AAV) and protein biochemistry/biophysics/stability
Expertise in statistical optimization softwares such as JMP
Working experience with lyophilizers
Working knowledge of solid state analytical techniques
Good communication skills and experience in the preparation and presentation of scientific outcomes
Basic knowledge of bioanalytical and biophysical characterization assays
