The Warehouse Shift Lead oversees warehouse staff and operations during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, meeting production and efficiency goals, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role involves supervising, coaching, and coordinating tasks to optimize workflow and quality. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Warehouse Staff in coordination with Supervisor: Lead and monitor the performance of warehouse associates, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and shift goals.
Manage Inventory & Equipment: Oversee inventory accuracy, manage stock levels, and ensure the proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
Coordinate Workflows: Assign tasks to team members, adjusting as needed to accommodate order priorities, delivery deadlines, and special requests.
Quality Control: Ensure that all outbound orders meet quality standards, reviewing accuracy, packaging, and compliance with customer requirements.
Health & Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and ensure team members wear necessary protective equipment.
Train and Develop Team: Provide ongoing training, onboarding, and mentorship to new hires and existing staff, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
Reporting and Communication: Complete and maintain shift reports on productivity, safety, and inventory, and communicate issues to higher management promptly.
Problem Solving: Working with shift Supervisor to address and resolve operational or personnel issues that arise during the shift, escalating as necessary to the Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.
Requirements:
Experience: 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, effective communication, and proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) is an advantage.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts).
Education: High school diploma or GED required; some college or technical training preferred.
