The Project Engineer provides technical detailed content for design and development of new products, and efficiently administrates engineering projects. This process involves detailed technical analysis, design, and testing. The Project Engineer shall support the management of project schedules and budgets. The Project Engineer must have excellent communication skills, an ability to translate technical information into basic understanding, and the ability to communicate tactfully with a diversity of people at both individual and team levels. The Project Engineer reports to the Director of Engineering. This individual is also expected to perform other related duties as required or requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:
New product design, design improvements including new technologies; including analysis and evaluation.
Detailed component and material selection.
Evaluation and testing of materials, parts, and overall product performance.
Customer spec review and project proposal preparation and support.
Electrical drawings and specification review:
Check engineering drawings, plans, computations, estimates and reports.
Confirming documents completeness, accuracy
Technical support for Marketing/Sales, Production and Program Management.
Reverse engineering and rapid prototyping activities.
Provide technical guidance as a member of the new product development team.
Assist Program Management in scope assessments, project budget and schedule reviews.
Supply warranty and product failure reviews, including documenting corrective actions. Evaluate existing engineering processes and recommend improvements.
Strong foundation in electronic equipment design:
BLDC motor drives and power electronics
Digital electronics design utilizing embedded micro controllers.
EMI filter design
Create BOMs, test plans, and technical reports, including (ATP, QTP, QTR)
Responsible for recording and sharing technical lessons learned with colleagues

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
2 + years' progressively responsible experience in an engineering environment
Excellent verbal & written communications- Ability to clearly present complex information
Effective at persuading others through concise logically sound presentations
A strategic thinker with timely tactical execution abilities
Experience with lean manufacturing/organizational development I change management.
The ability to work independently.
Experience working with AS9100 quality system (a plus).
Strong computer skills including:
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc.
Schematic capture tools such as PADS or Altium
Electrical analysis software such as SPICE
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environment.
Ability to move electrical equipment up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to support limited travel to support customers and testing as required.

Salary Minimum: $80,000
Salary Maximum: $130,000
