Holyoke Community College invites applications to teach ESL courses from high-beginning to advanced levels in Reading and Writing, Speaking and Listening, Grammar, and Pronunciation. Instruction will be on campus, face-to-face with students in HCC classrooms, but may also include an online component. Our department does not offer fully online instruction, either synchronously or asynchronously, so we are not able to consider applications from candidates with no on-campus availability.
Under the direction of the Academic Department Chair and/or Department Dean, adjunct faculty provide a quality learning experience for Holyoke Community College students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty report to a dean and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
REQUIRED: Masters Degree in ESL or related field; experience teaching ESL at appropriate levels; Commitment to and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff & student body.
PREFERRED: Experience teaching in higher education.
