Job Title:Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor and Program DirectorDepartment:Public Health | Health Services Management and Policy


Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - faculty positions within the university that are not tenure track and not eligible for tenure; on a fixed term contract.   Persons with the title of professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, assistant professor-clinical and instructor-clinical. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty department and, as appropriate, regional campus; Clinical faculty are teacher/practitioners and will be engaged primarily in teaching activities.  These faculty normally have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or equivalent experience.

Position Overview


The Ohio State University College of Public Health is searching for a clinical/teaching/practice faculty member (non-tenure track), at the rank of assistant or associate professor, to join its Division of Health Services Management and Policy (HSMP). We are seeking a candidate to launch our Executive Master of Health Administration (MHA) program and contribute to the development of other executive education and workforce certificate programs. The candidate will also teach graduate-level health services management and policy courses which may include organizational management, strategy, operations management, data analytics, information technology, finance, health care organizations, and/or other related topics.



This is a 12-month appointment, beginning in August 2025. The faculty member will be responsible annually for academic program leadership and teaching. In addition, this individual will participate in advising graduate students, serve on college and/or university committees, and broadly engage in activities, e.g., scholarship or service, to advance the health care management and policy field.

  • Academic program leadership, including the executive MHA Program and/or other executive and workforce education initiatives, e.g. certificate and non-credit programs.

  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success, growth, and impact of academic programs and curricula

  • High quality, innovative contributions to the teaching mission of the College

  • Commitment to inclusive excellence in teaching and practice




Education and Experience Requirements:



This appointment may be at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor. Rank and salary will be determined by the candidate's academic credentials and experience.




Required:



  • An earned doctorate in a field related to health care management and policy and/or public health by the start of employment

  • Positive track record of university teaching or the potential to develop in this area based on prior work experience

  • Demonstrated academic program and/or practice-based leadership

  • Strong interest in teaching and mentoring students

The Division


The Division of Health Services Management and Policy's Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is ranked 8th nationally in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of health care management programs. The HSMP Division also leads the College's Master of Public Health Program for Experienced Professionals (MPH-PEP), a distanced-based program which emphasizes population health leadership and management, and a PhD program. Our multidisciplinary faculty is known for their excellence in teaching, their significant research accomplishments, and their service to the health services management and policy field. The Division's academic programs are enhanced by a strong collaborative relationship with the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) and other health systems across Ohio. The College


The College of Public Health is Ohio's first accredited college of public health.
