Purpose:
The Energy Assistance Program is hiring 2 full-time project-based Energy Assistants that are funded through the Low-Income Households Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for the new season that begins October 2024.
These full-time positions will receive full benefits and will end in June or July 2025.
These positions require working in the office consistently 4 days per week and remotely for the remainder of the week. You may opt to work in on the office 5 days a week. To work remotely, the candidates must have high-speed internet, and a private office space.
About You:
We are looking for dynamic individuals with excellent computer and math skills, who can accurately review and calculate various income sources. They must be able to provide direct services and interview applicants in-person, by phone, and through our online website to a very diverse population including low-income, disabled, seniors, people with limited English and Veterans.
These individuals must have the ability to quickly and continuously learn and retain program-related information. They can communicate professionally and effectively when encountering disgruntled or challenged customers in crisis.
The successful individuals are able to handle high volumes of paper and digital applications while ensuring the protection of personal information. Enjoy a rewarding, fast-paced team environment and is able to work effectively in the office and remotely.

One (1) year of experience in Energy/Weatherization programs performing a variety of office work, interviewing and computer experience; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. LIHEAP Energy Assistance Program experience preferred. Must pass job related tests.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
LIHEAP Energy Assistance Program experience preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
A valid Washington State Driver's License is required for employment.

SUPERVISION
Employees receive direction from a technical Lead Energy & Weatherization Assistant III, and supervision from a Human Services Specialist III or administrator as assigned. Objectives, priorities and goals/deadlines are established by the supervisor. Employees plan and carry out successive steps and resolve problems in accordance with instructions, policies and accepted practices.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is performed in the usual office environment with occasional field work when assisting clients.
