About the Role:




Judge Direct Placement is actively partnered with a client in the supply chain seeking an Automation Engineering & Design Manager to spearhead projects centered around planning, design and full cycle implementation of automatic robotic systems within facilities.




This role is based in the Charlotte Suburbs, with 30% travel, and hybrid work schedule to allow for flexibility to complete necessary projects in various settings.



Lead a team of engineers and project managers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation systems across a large-scale network. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.



Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Strategy Development: Develop and execute automation strategies aligned with overall business goals.


• 
  Team Leadership: Manage a diverse team of engineers and project managers.


• 
  Project Management: Oversee automation projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.


• 
  Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with automation vendors.


• 
  Technology Evaluation: Research and implement new automation technologies.


• 
  Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.


• 
  Budget Management: Manage a significant capital budget for automation initiatives.


• 
  Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements through automation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.


• Minimum 7 years of experience in automation engineering roles.


• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects.


• Strong understanding of automation technologies and best practices.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to manage a significant budget and prioritize projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in engineering or a related field.


• Experience in the grocery or retail industry.


• Certification in project management or automation engineering.
