Overview
As a dive technician, you `ll work on dive teams for our structural assessment contracts locally, regionally and around the US. You`ll help maintain and prepare the equipment: including dive equipment, boats and vehicles. You`ll serves as a bridge inspector, diver tender and a notetaker. You`ll be in the water honing your craft from day one. You`ll learn to conduct top side inspection of bridges and other structures to protect the travelling public. The structural diving technician reports to the diving team leader.
Responsibilities
• Perform inspections and develop reports in accordance with national bridge inspectionstandards requirements to determine maintenance or repair needs.• Perform emergency inspections of bridges damaged by collision and floods.• Maintain and prepare equipment for field inspections including dive equipment, vehicles and boats.• Maintain bridge records and files.
Qualifications
• Commercial Diving (ADCI) certification.• Experience with diving equipment maintenance .• Proficiency in technical writing skills.• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.• This field job primarily operates in outdoor work environments that may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.• While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, balancing, coordination, and occasional sitting or operating a company vehicle. This job may require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
