Machine Operator 10:50 pm to 7 am, M-F at Silgan Plastics Corporation in Franklin, Kentucky

Job Description:

• 
  Promotes safety and working safely throughout the facility to prevent injury to self and co-workers, addressing unsafe conditions & behaviors, Inspects work area daily.
  
  
  


• 
  Adhering to all Silgan Safety Policies & Standards, Silgan Plastics No Tolerance Policy and Product Defense-Security..
  
  
  


• 
  Reading and understanding specific information pertaining to your job duties and classification (i.e., Silgan BOM) Specifications, Job Safety Analysis, Work Instructions, Plant Memos, etc.
  
  
  


• 
  Monitor assigned line(s) for mechanical, quality problems, to help maintain machines are running safely and productively.
  
  
  


• 
  Perform basic to advanced repairs to blow molding and downstream equipment in a timely manner and to seek assistance promptly for repairs beyond their skill level.
  
  
  


• 
  Perform assigned standard operating procedures on each line. This includes but is not limited to: activity log reports and bottle quality.
  
  
  


• 
  Maintaining acceptable production output levels.
  
  
  


• 
  Keeping scrap at an acceptable level.
  
  
  


• 
  Produce finished goods that meet or exceed our customers' requirements and specifications, and to produce these finished goods at optimum cycle times for efficient throughput
  
  
  


• 
  Provide information for shift notes, problems encountered, corrective actions taken, machine setting readings all on provided forms
  
  
  


• 
  Acquire the skills and knowledge to efficiently operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the manufacturing equipment of Silgan Plastics
  
  
  


• 
  Provide labor as directed by the Supervisor
  
  
  


• 
  Other duties as assigned
  
  
  

EXPERIENCE:




Preferred: experience as a blow molding operator



SKILLS:




Required: Ability to read, write and communicate orally. Good attention to detail.


Ability to enter machinery safely and unhindered by physical restriction.


Willingness to work 12 hours on either day or night shifts, weekends, and overtime



Preferred: Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
