The Role:
Are you excited about viral vaccines and therapeutics? Do you want to use and develop reverse genetics techniques to understand pathogenesis and make new discoveries which could advance our understanding of host-virus interactions? We are looking for a Staff Scientist to join our laboratory immediately to conduct research in the field of host-pathogen interactions and innate immune responses to viruses, including BSL2, BSL3, and BSL4 viral pathogens.
Our goal is to use reporter viruses in cellular systems and animal models to identify antivirals and design live-attenuated vaccines for the treatment and prevention of viral disease.
Your work environment will be the Disease Intervention & Prevention at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. Texas Biomedical Research Institute is the only private, non-profit infectious disease research facility, providing high containment research capabilities (BSL3 & BSL4) alongside a National Primate Research Center.
