Job Description:

The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC) are jointly recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, to join our clinical research group focused on nonmalignant hematology. This position would be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank, without tenure due to funding (WOT). Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. This position would be based at Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC) in Seattle. Assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The selected candidates would see patients, teach, and build a related research program in nonmalignant hematology. Potential areas of research focus include hemostasis/thrombosis, geriatric hematology, cytopenias, immunohematology, and marrow failure. Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of medical students, residents, and fellows during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be: $21,250 - $30,000 per month ($255,000 - $360,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position may include a Monthly Additional Compensation (MAC). Anticipated start date would be April 1, 2025.

Qualifications
MD or DO (or foreign equivalent)
Completion of a fellowship in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) eligible or certified in Medical
Oncology or Hematology (or foreign equivalent)
Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington
Demonstrated record in clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research, with a primary focus on acute myeloid leukemia or closely related conditions.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
