Basic Life Research Scientist (2-Year Fixed-Term)🔍School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United States📁Research📅Nov 21, 2023 Post Date📅101506 Requisition #We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Research Scientist to join RNA Medicine program at Stanford led by Professor Howard Chang. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary research team on the design and development of novel RNA therapeutics. Research is focused on addressing technology bottlenecks for the use of mRNAs, long noncoding RNAs, and circular RNAs for immune modulation, genome editing, and vaccines with broad applications for addressing human diseases.
This will be a 2-year fixed-term positions with a possibility for extension based on performance and the availability of funding.
Responsibilities of the Research Scientist will include molecular cloning, RNA purification, protein production, cell culture, protocol optimization and scaling, novel assay development, attendance at weekly lab meetings, and participation in the training of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and research assistants. S/he will be involved in multiple projects and will be expected to make scientific and written contributions to justify first or co-authorship on manuscripts for publication.
Required:
PhD and/or MD degree with at least 5 years of relevant research experience in academia and/or industry Strong background in molecular biology, RNA biology, and mammalian cell cultureProven track record in researchAbility to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred:
Experience with RNA formulation, protein production, and technology developmentExperience with gene transfer, functional genomics, or immunology

The expected pay range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per annum. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
