The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time IT Operations Leader to work in Miami, Florida.
A quick thinking/acting problem solver with high energy, world-class IT skills, and vast experience, the IT Operations Leader is a key leadership role within the organization responsible for overseeing the IT-related production ecosystem and leading the IT response to non-cybersecurity production events across the enterprise. This position reports directly to the CIO and plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and effectiveness of the organization's IT operations. This position is responsible for managing on-site, the hour-to-hour, highly reliable operations of our IT systems.
Oversees and manages the IT-related production ecosystem, including infrastructure, systems, and applications, to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
Leads the IT response to any non-cybersecurity production events that may arise across the enterprise, including identifying root causes, implementing solutions, and mitigating risks.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement IT operational strategies, policies, and procedures that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT operations efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Provides strategic guidance and technical expertise to senior leadership on IT operations-related matters.
Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate the performance of IT operations.
Reports outstanding support and maintenance issues and follows through to ensure effective resolutions.
Oversees and ensures the implementation scenarios for testing the relevant portions of IT systems in terms of data integrity, end user functionality, and application of developed work rules.
Assists in the documentation, development, and implementation of newly required state, federal, and local guidelines and regulations.
Provides consistency and assurance that all appropriate support and enhancements requirements are obtained.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in IT Operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing is essential.
Proven experience in IT operations management.
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
