Theatre Marketing and Engagement Specialist



The Theatre Marketing and Engagement Specialist is responsible for the development, production, editing, and timely dissemination of multimedia and social media marketing materials, and community engagement events for the Department of Theatre Arts and the University Theatre (“Pitt Stages”).

The Theatre Marketing and Engagement Specialist reports to the Marketing and Outreach Manager but actively collaborates with the Department Chair and other faculty, the Box Office Manager, and the Theatrical Production Director and other production staff, as well as the Dietrich Communications team and University Communications and Marketing staff.


Job Summary

Creates written editorial content across print and electronic mediums and manages web content. Institutes procedures for timely information gathering. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.


Essential Functions

Sitting for extended periods of time, using a computer for extended periods of time, and lifting up to 20 pounds unaided.


Physical Effort

May require lifting of objects up to 20 pounds, including photo and video cameras and related equipment.
