The Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Division of the DOM is hiring for a Clinical Research Coordinator. The division is led by division chief Alison Morris, MD and Executive Administrator Barbara Suchonic. The division is made of up approximately 70 clinical staff and over 100 research staff who work in a variety of locations including: Bridgeside Point, Biomedical Science Tower (BST), UPMC Hospitals including Presbyterian, Shadyside, East, Jameson and Mercy. The division provides world class services across 10 inpatient services at five hospitals and over 70,000 outpatient office visits. We have a major research mission that focuses on basic, clinical, and translational research on the lung, microbiome, COVID-19, sleep medicine, and allergy and immunology.
The HIV Lung Research Center is currently recruiting a clinical research coordinator to an internationally recognized research group currently participating in multiple NIH and industry sponsored studies. This individual will be responsible for subject recruitment, scheduling, conducting subject interviews, performing pulmonary functions testing, phlebotomy, maintaining subject records, data entry, answering queries and monitoring subject medical status in the medical record and reporting to the lead coordinator.
Prepares grant applications, manuscripts, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, research papers, and assists with complex research papers. Audits research studies, monitors study budgets, resolves complex data collection issues, and implements protocol-specific study recruitment plans. Trains staff and oversees student workers; leads team meetings. Monitors study budgets and orders supplies.
Recruiting and screening study patients. Scheduling and coordinating study visits for patients. Carrying out pulmonary functions testing on study patients. Phlebotomy. Performing data entry, analysis, and maintaining databases. Medical record reviews and monitoring.
Must be able to stand and/or sit for up to 8 hours. Will have to walk between hospitals and stand while testing subjects.
