Job Description:

MAU is hiring a Plant Director for Berry Global in Waynesboro, VA. As a Plant Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Waynesboro plant's operations, including production, budgeting, and team leadership, to ensure the plant meets the company's goals and objectives. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information:
  • Full-time position, 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, with additional availability required for plant needs.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management or a similar manufacturing role.

General Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to manage multiple functional areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Solid knowledge of plant operations, financial performance, and technical aspects.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and meet operational targets.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with capital project management and operational budgeting.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems and OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop and execute the Operations Plan for the Waynesboro plant, aligning with the company's budget and strategic goals.
  • Foster a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage plant P&L, overseeing production volume, sales, and EBITDA performance.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service to optimize plant operations.
  • Lead and mentor the site management team for both short-term success and long-term development.
  • Ensure plant operations are aligned with the company's continuous improvement initiatives (BEx, 5S, Kaizen).

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position will supervise department managers and oversee plant operations across multiple functional areas.

Work Environment:
  • Responsibilities are performed in both office and production facility environments, requiring a presence on the plant floor regularly.

Physical Demands:
  • This position may require standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while working in the office environment.

Travel:
  • Minimal travel required, primarily for meetings or regional plant visits.
