The Infrastructure Engineer provides expertise in supporting one or more products or services while pro-actively monitoring, controlling and supporting service operations; working to achieve service levels. Maintains the organization's IT infrastructure, which may include hardware, software, servers, storage solutions, networks, or physical facilities.



Essential Functions:



  • At least 3+ years of system or network administration in a production 24x7 environment.

  • Help administer multi-server Windows and HP Unix network, including VPN connectivity, Internet/Web connectivity, Exchange email, back-ups, security, and user administration.

  • Monitor and regularly report status of network components and performance.

  • Assist in the analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of network expansion, configuration, and performance issues.

  • Assist in the planning, evaluation, configuration, and installation of servers and related equipment and software.

  • Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction




Education/Experience:



  • College degree preferred, high school diploma required.

  • Good interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Conscientious

  • Ability to take responsibility for action and outcomes

  • Ability to stay informed of current industry trends and learn new concepts

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Self motivated

  • At least 4 years of experience administering Windows 2003 Active directory, Exchange 2003, SQL Server, MOM, SMS, Unix experience a plus (preferably HP Unix)

  • Some MCSE certifications preferred (Windows 2003, MS Exchange, and SQL Server)

  • Other certifications preferred
