The role is on-site but they can work from home on an as needed basis.
This role reports to the Director of Information Technology and Cybersecurity
This person will primarily be doing Windows Server support and handling level 2 tickets. All server work is done in house but all networking and security has been outsourced to an MSP. This role interfaces with the MSP and it is important for this person to have Cybersecurity experience and must understand vulnerabilities. They are trying to move security in house. must have some knowledge of TCP/IP Networking concepts but doesn't need strong hands on networking experience.
BASIC PURPOSE
The Senior Information Technology Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stable, effective, and efficient operation of all technology, including but not limited to business systems, software, devices, infrastructure, data and voice connectivity, and applications within the organization. This role will work closely with current and future technology business partners and service providers, particularly the Managed Services Provider (MSP), to maintain and enhance the organization's IT infrastructure. The Senior Information Technology Administrator oversees day-to-day activities, managing service delivery, and ensuring alignment with the department's strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Technology Infrastructure Management
1. Oversee the management, maintenance, and support of all IT systems, software, hardware,
and applications to ensure optimal performance and availability.
2. Implement and enforce IT operational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance
with best practices and organizational requirements.
3. Monitor and manage the performance of the IT infrastructure, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact business operations.
4. Leverage industry-appropriate frameworks throughout the design and execution of the organization's information technology and cybersecurity network and operations.
5. Support the implementation of cybersecurity initiatives and controls within IT operations to mitigate
risks and enhance the organization's security posture.

6. Participate in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring that IT systems and data are protected in the event of an incident.
7. Serve in an on-call capacity to address critical IT issues outside of regular business hours.
Service Delivery and Vendor Management
1. Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services that meet the organization's needs by working closely with the Managed Services Provider (MSP).
2. Establish and maintain effective relationships with all technology business partners and service providers, ensuring alignment with business goals.
3. Manage vendor contracts, ensuring service levels and costs align with organizational expectations.
Special Projects
1. Lead assigned IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
2. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring that projects align with business objectives.
3. Manage project resources, including internal teams and external partners, to ensure successful execution.
Other Responsibilities
1. Identify opportunities for improving IT operations processes, systems, and services and coordinate initiatives to implement those improvements.
2. Develop recommendations based on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices for their adoption within the organization.
3. Explore new tools and technologies in IT operations and approaches to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT function.
4. Participate in industry-recognized technology groups, trade groups, conferences, training, and peer group events as directed.
5. Obtain and maintain relevant technology certifications.
6. Assumes responsibility for related duties and special projects as required or assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education/Certification
a. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred.

b. ITIL, PMP, CAN or CISSP certification preferred; professional or insurance certification (ARM,
CPCU) desired.
c. Strong knowledge of NIST, MITRE, CIS, or other IT service management frameworks.
2. Experience
a. A minimum of seven years of experience in IT operations with at least three years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
b. Experience working with and managing relationships with Managed Services Providers (MSPs) and other technology vendors.
c. Experience in project management with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
d. Experience with cybersecurity practices and principles with an understanding of how they apply to IT operations.
e. Experience in the public sector, particularly local government, or municipal environments.
f. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

information to multiple and varied stakeholders; and coupled with interpersonal skills, the ability to
build a dedicated team environment.
g. Proven experience in working effectively as part of a team, or independently, while working offsite
or in a remote work environment, and to manage multiple priorities in aforesaid environments.
h. Proficiency in office technology including Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and
Power Point, and G-Suite products.
i. Demonstrated ability to configure and manage identity verification, including but not limited to 2FA (two-factor) and MFA (multi-factor) authentication solutions
4. Travel
a. Must maintain a valid Michigan driver's license for duration of employment.
