Why this role is important to us
The AVP and the Alts Funds team will be responsible for all of the day to day operations of the Alternative Funds, including oversight and work review of an off shore team. The AVP is often involved in leading projects for the department and communicates with both internal and external clients. The AVP is accountable for ensuring processes and controls are in place to mitigate risk for the organization and for providing direction to the off shore teams.
The activities will include aspects of the following:
Transactions processing and settlements - handholding of tickets and manual directives. Calculation and processing of monthly payments (interest, principal and fees) for whole loans. Verification and manual instruction of monthly payments (interest, principal and fees) for LOC. Confirmations of receipts or deliveries of payments. Remittance reports reviews and reconciliations. Verification of expense reimbursements. Counterparty real estate loans reconciliations. Join venture vendors' financial reports reconciliations. Fees amortization. Sweeps of cash collateral balances. Fund performance reconciliations and attribution analysis. Daily, MTD and YTD P&L reconciliations. Daily custody cash reconciliations. Monthly accounting market values reconciliations.
In addition to the above routine activities, the AVP will maintain and develop procedures to handle existing and new business requirements. There will be direct interaction with counterparties, servicers, custodian, accounting agents and investment manager contacts to research and explain exceptions and to achieve resolution. The AVP will coordinate requests for ad hoc reports and projects.
AVP Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business, finance, accounting or economics. At least 5 years of industry experience.
In-depth knowledge in the following: Fixed income and alternative investments accounting. Securities operations and investment manager middle and back office operations. Custody, broker and depository platforms.
Demonstrated leadership and decision making abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, planning and analytical skills. Ability to effectively bring individuals from multiple areas together to resolve identified issues.
Computer proficient, including spreadsheet (MS Excel) and database applications skills.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
