Position Summary:
The Director of International Recruitment will report directly to the Director of Recruitment and will assist in execution of the strategic international services of A-State international students, including enrollment management. The Director of International Recruitment will strive to keep a professional and friendly relationship with students. The ideal candidate for this position should be skilled in public relations, and have great customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
International Recruitment
Organize an international schedule and travel overseas to meet with prospective international students to promote u ndergraduate programs .
Guide international students through the application process and serve as the primary point of contact for follow-up questions and information.
Form partnerships with global agents and be their main point of contact.
Conduct virtual webinars with prospective international students.
Execute communication on admission and/or related matters with prospective, applicants, and admitted students via telephone, Skype/webinars, email, and/or in-person meetings.
Timely follow through on communication plans by initiating and answering correspondence and inquiries from agents, prospective students, and their families.
Familiar with both undergraduate programs and admission criteria.
Compile annual international territory reports and other regular updates for assigned recruitment territories.
Work with the Enrollment Management Communications and Marketing team to develop an international-specific communication plan post-recruitment.
Spend approximately 2 months abroad on international travel.
Relationships:
Coordinate relationships with third-party international recruitment agent contracts. Daily activities include but are not limited to meeting with agents overseas , conducting virtual sessions, and e-mail/phone contact.
Manage the applicant pool received from third-party international recruitment agents. This is inclusive of ensuring that all applicants received are appropriately coded for follow-up, communicating application status updates to the agents, and tracking applications from the point of admission to enrollment.
Identify potential relationships and agreements with educational institutions, governmental authorities , and corporations with a focus on beneficial outcomes for the institution.
Cultivate relationships with partners (current and potential) and other educational professionals who work with international students.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of A-State and it's degree programs Knowledge of academic credit, course equivalents/substitutions, and registration procedures Ability to empathize and work with students and faculty from different cultures Ability to work co-operatively with other offices both on-campus and internationally Public speaking ability and strong communication skills
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance
Other:
This position will require frequent travel, including nights, evening and weekends as needed in order to accomplish several functions.
Two months of travel abroad required for each year.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Counseling, International Education, International Business International Affairs or closely related field
One year of experience in the related occupation of working with international student programs and/or international students in an academic setting preferred. Experience in public speaking and communicating with people from different cultures and backgrounds
