The Quality Control Technician will complete a variety of Quality Assurance and Quality Control tasks including taking measurements, performing inspections, and conducting tests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for direct Quality support of specified processes utilizing specialized equipment. This responsibility includes being the primary individual measuring product and process.
Perform Measurement, Inspection, Test & Data duties in a Safe and time efficient manner.
Demonstrated proficiency & experience using Inspection, Measuring & Test Equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, Indicators, Electronic & functional gages, etc.) and recording data, charting measurements, database entries, watching for trends, etc.
Practical experience in Blueprint reading and views, component configuration, critical & reference dimensions, finding tolerance allowances and determining total tolerance bands.
Solid math, written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills, previous experience with statistics a plus. Basic to intermediate computer skills required (MS Office), ERP Systems, etc.
Problem solving: Identify the root cause of problems using systemic and logical steps, through research of multiple alternatives. Applies judgment based on precedence, experience, and with consistency.
Identify and support Production Quality Processes and Procedures to maintain consistency, decrease variation, increase throughput and eliminate customer dissatisfaction.
Applies good working knowledge of gages, interacts with operators, supervisors, managers, planners, and engineers to quickly resolve issues as they arise. Responsible to only allow acceptable / conforming product to exit the cell.
Responsible for working with Materials, Engineering, Ops, Quality and Leadership to obtain disposition of nonconforming product.
Perform job duties on primary shift as required, as well as overtime as needed to support.
Required Experience and/or Education:
3 years progressive work related manufacturing / industrial experience with demonstrated proficiency in the discipline / technology / process related to the position.
Required Education: minimum - High School diploma/GED
Desirable: Associates degree or Technical Institute degree/certificate or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
