We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Pueblo, Colorado.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day direction and motivation of the staff workers within their group with high emphasis placed on safety producing a quality product in the allotted time frame.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY:

  • Champions safety through direct instruction and monitoring of employees.
  • Ensures that employees perform their tasks in a safe manner which is in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

QUALITY:

  • Directly monitors each employee's work to ensure compliance with established work procedures.
  • Oversees work to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer specifications.
  • Takes corrective action to identify and quarantine non-conforming product.

ON-TIME DELIVERY:

  • Plans and executes work to meet established delivery and completion commitments.
  • Meets assigned production goals within allotted material and labor targets.

COST:

  • Maximizes productivity by effectively planning and executing work.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce costs by: improving processes, controlling labour and overtime, reducing waste and shop consumables.
  • Ensures time and materials are accurately reported.
  • Supports and maintains Lean culture.

PEOPLE:

  • Develops employees through coaching, mentoring and providing training opportunities.
  • Consistently and fairly applies Company policies and rules.
  • Rigorously enforces provisions of "Terms and Conditions" and Collective Agreement (if applicable).
  • To liaise with the other departments in an effort to develop systems to make their group more effective and efficient and promote a high degree of morale and interplant cooperation.
  • Attend staff meetings, enforce Company policies, and monitor discipline for violators of Company work rules.
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation between themselves, their group and other groups within the organization.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
  • Assign specific tasks and duties to ensure effective Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Promote continual improvement of EMS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Post-Secondary education with diploma or degree in Manufacturing / Production

FIELD OF EXPERIENCE:

  • One to two years experience in supervisory role or similar level preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Prepare and process manufacturing schedules / production.
  • Posses strong interpersonal / communication skills with the ability to motivate others.
  • Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in an efficient manner.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Must be able to lift or handle up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional travel may be required which includes walking, standing, sitting and driving from short to long periods of time.
