Job Description:
The Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission enforces the State's campaign finance laws, its lobbying laws and its governmental ethics laws. This is a professional position with good work/life balance doing meaningful work for an independent agency of the State of Nebraska.
As a member of the administrative team, you will:
Prepare and oversee the preparation and mailing of general correspondence including orders, notices of late filing fees, and confidential documents ensuring that notification is made and service completed using certified mail.
Ensure that files and forms are maintained in proper order.
Enter late fees from late fee data sheets and their receipts into the FirstTuesday online program.
Keep statistical information and prepare reports of late fees, track and maintain all late fee data sheets, following through until resolved.
Oversee data entry and facilitate corrections for Auditors.
Acts as back up to Office Specialist and Office Technician, answering questions and performing data entry during peak times.
Work with Deputy Director for problems and solutions with the FirstTuesday online filing system and the main website.
Prepare and submit accounting transactions into the Enterprise One program, including payroll and other accounts payable bills and invoices for payment.
Maintain the office inventory and order office supplies.
Reserve meeting room for Commission meetings and request hotel accommodations for traveling commissioners.
Prepare various reports for the Commission meetings, including late fee report and complaint status.
Assemble and mail all documents and packets for Commission meeting mailings.
Attend, record, and take minutes of all Commission meetings.
Participate in the planning of procedural office changes.
Participate in hiring new personnel including interviewing applicants and onboarding.
Train all clerical staff.
Answer questions from the public related to general filing requirements.
Coordinate with other agencies regarding filing obligations, and office procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Hiring Rate:
Pay range is $ 18.811 - 27.730 per hour. The pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields.
Knowledge of: federal and State laws and regulations governing work assigned; office management and record keeping methods and practices; administrative report preparation practices; research and administrative survey techniques; work planning and organizing; business computer and communication systems; computerized or electronic file management and online filing (database systems).
Ability to: communicate verbally (in person or over the phone) and in writing (letters or emails); use Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and customized software; gain an understanding of our Statutes and Rules; interact with immediate supervisor and senior managers, employees, and the public to gain their cooperation and to establish work relationships; formulate and recommend modifications to operational directives to attain agency goals; apply management practices, techniques, and methodologies to assigned activities; collect, assemble, and analyze facts and draw conclusions to recommend solutions to problems; identify and interpret program-administrative requirements, policies, and regulations to provide guidance and advice; organize and present facts and opinions to managers and groups; learn the structure, functions, goals, and policies of the employing agency.
