Job description and requirements
We are currently looking for a GIS Analyst who will be responsible for creating wide range of analytic reports and maps, maintain datasets and processes and support Accounts Managers and Manager of Analytic Team.
Utilize various datasets at various levels of geography from Postal Code to unique routes/zone, including (but not limited to): Stats Canada/Vivi data/Segmentation/CPC – postal codes, customer loyalty/POS, Digital data, Shapefiles and other GIS layers.
Utilize various software including (but not limited to) MS Access, Excel, ArcGIS and Alteryx to transform and process datasets for analysis purposes.
Create custom queries/formulas/workflows to generate reports/maps such as (but not limited to): Market Share, ranking, ROI, store sales, trade areas, Cost-Benefit and Distribution Penetration in order to provide distribution recommendations.
Collect and source store location data for use as “competitors” on client maps. Use of Google maps to verify locations.
Identifying geo-demographic patterns and forecasting opportunities for direct marketing campaigns.
Evaluate results, consider impact to sales and communicate recommendations accordingly to account managers.
Work closely w acct managers to review client data, provide feedback and recommendations in use and processing of data to support client objectives.
Geographic Information Systems degree/certificate and/or Bachelor of Geography
Minimum one (1) year experience in retail analytics environment
???????Experience conducting market studies / statistics / analytics
Strong understanding of geography and factors that affect retailers
Ability to understand data types/formats, processes, and analytic results to provide sound distribution (print & digital) recommendations
Working knowledge of ArcGIS and/or MapInfo
Basic knowledge of Alteryx and Cartovista, an asset
Highly team oriented - Collaborate, communicate and share ideas, solutions, and workloads with team members, open to ideas and thoughts/suggestions of others
Ability to explain processes, and convey ideas clearly and concisely
Customer oriented, i.e. the flexibility to tweak deliverables to meet the expectations of the acct Managers/Client
