The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).
Job Summary:
The Transportation Analyst has the unique opportunity to impact the business daily by partnering with ground carriers, coordinating with internal departments and assisting the product groups with data analytics focusing on transportation of their prime product

What You Will Do:
Carrier Point of Contact: Help to direct carriers to the appropriate party for issue resolution, update contacts, access requests, EDI testing and onboarding, training, etc.
Issue Resolution with a Carrier: Permit issues, unloading issues, load challenges, performance issues, border issues, pick up issues, etc.
Manage the Carrier RCCA Process : TANE, PCA, OTP, OTD, Damage, Service Failures, Driver Misconduct, Milestone Compliance, follow up communication to ensure corrective action and explanation are appropriate
Communication with Carriers: Create quarterly update communication and 'as needed' email blast communication with carriers based on issues, facility or dealer closures, holidays, weather impacts, expectations / reminders, etc.
Annual Bid Process: Work in tandem with Procurement to provide expected volumes, requirements, and constraints for the 'annual' heavy haul bid award process. Review the proposed awards, modify, and recommend changes. Coordinate with Load Planning to get their input and agreement on proposed awards. Validate awards are accurately updated in TM prior to go live date, advise any corrections to Procurement. Communicate with carriers' operational expectations and onboard new carriers to metrics, expectations, EDI etc. Notify product groups, updated lane constraints, updating forecast, and updating bid tables with Load Planning. Continuous monitoring of carrier performance against the lanes and loads. Removal of primaries based on performance, etc.
Supplemental Bids: Identify needs based on trends, carrier performance, upcoming volume, and sourcing changes. Supplemental bid creates lanes and / or secures additional loads with primaries already awarded loads on a lane from the existing heavy haul bid awards. This supplements the ongoing heavy haul bid awards.
Peak Season Surcharge : Review all primary lanes for opportunity. Consider Extra Cost, PCA, OTP, OTD, Carrier scope. Provide updates for tracking reports.
Projects & Cost Studies: Identify and run projects to resolve capacity issues, reduce cost, improve velocity, or address opportunities relating to carrier management, dealers, or Product Groups on Heavy Haul Transportation in NA (domestic and import, end to end cost, rail, etc. Deliver on an annual PVT savings for Product Groups of $500K - $1.25M.
TM Computed T ime O verrides : Review for patterns
Unplanned Cost / Accessorial Auditing
Rail Invoice Review : Resolve issues, audit charges, etc.
Data Development & Maintenance: Create and maintain Salesforce, Dashboards, etc.
Product Group Transportation Cost Liaison
Cost Reporting: Manage monthly & quarterly transportation cost reporting for all Product Groups, including: BCP Container Reports (Import and Export), BCP RORO, Quarterly GRMG Reports for all Product Groups, & Respond to Ad hoc Product Group Cost requests.
Response to Significant Disruptions: Active participant in the strategic solutioning and response to large-scale disruptions to Heavy Haul transportation flows (Hurricanes, Port Disruptions, etc.)

What Would Set You Apart:
Ability to analyze large amounts of data and build reports / dashboards
Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce, or Oracle experience
Experience within Compliance, Supply Chain, or Logistics
Heavy Haul/Carrier experience
Knowledge of North American Transportation best practices and procedures
Strong communication skills, personal initiative, accountability, teamwork, and customer focus
Able to work effectively across all levels in the organization
Transportation: Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.
