Governors State University's College of Arts and Sciences seeks to create an available pool of local (Chicagoland area) Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach undergraduate courses in Philosophy.
Essential ResponsibilitiesWe are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach courses in the following areas: Ethics in Healthcare (online), Logic & Practical Reasoning (on-campus), and Philosophy of Religion (any modality).
Interested individuals are invited to complete a faculty profile, attach a curriculum vita, cover letter, transcripts and list of references for consideration. If available, please also include a sample syllabus.
At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.Required and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* A Master's degree in Philosophy or a closely related discipline. * Experience teaching undergraduate classes at an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
* A doctoral degree in Philosophy or a closely related discipline. * Experience teaching online at an accredited college or university.* Experience teaching formal or informal logic at an accredited college or university.
