Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Alumni Events and Experiences is responsible for supporting program design, development, and implementation within the Alumni Experiences Team. They will be an instrumental partner to the Associate Director in planning, executing, and evaluating Reunion programming, including major events such as, but not limited to, Campus Dance, Bruno's Block Party, Bruno's Pub Night, Reunion Affinity Group events, and Aides and Marshals.
They will take on leadership roles in organizing and delivering several critical events and services and will provide expertise in event conceptualization, execution, and staffing. By doing so, they will ensure the success of the Reunion program and ultimately contribute to a more fulfilling alumni experience. They will also manage and provide direction to more than 10 reunion seasonal/temporary team members that support Reunion.
The Assistant Director will also support the development and implementation of an Awards and Recognition program that identifies and honors exceptional contributions and achievements of Brown Alumni and volunteers. The Assistant Director will lead all program aspects, from the nomination process to the selection criteria and formal recognition, ensuring that each step is executed efficiently and effectively.

Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 4 years experience in event planning or related fields, such as project management, higher education, and/or nonprofit.
Required Qualifications
Experience executing virtual and/or hybrid and using the latest technology and virtual event tools events required.
Experience in and knowledge of meeting and event planning principles, requirements, procedures, and available resources.
Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google suite of tools, experience with web and email technology, experience using databases, ability to learn new technology quickly. Proficiency with Zoom.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience collaborating across a team and ability to build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends and travel domestically as needed for events.
Knowledge of Brown University and/or experience in a higher education is a plus.
