GENERAL SUMMARY:  Thisposition currently reports to the Interim Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences& Health (SASH) and School of Creative & Information Technologies and providesoperational leadership and support for the Information Technologies academicprograms, its personnel, students, and services. Programs of study provide forAS, AAS, and BT degrees within the field of Information Technologies.



PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Provide daily oversight and supervision of all IT instructors.Assist with the evaluation and development of faculty in the IT programs.Promote and advance access and community impact initiatives that serve all students for improved access, learning, and success in information technologies.Foster collegiality and positive morale.Promote and support academic innovation and excellence.Assists with the collaborative development and fulfillment of short- and long-term strategic priorities for the IT programs.Collaborates with the Interim Dean to adjust policies, procedures, and initiatives appropriate for accomplishing IT priorities.Oversee the assessment of student learning vis-à-vis the expectations of the program's accreditation and governing entities.Support specialized and institutional accreditation initiatives, specifically ABET accreditation.Serve as Microsoft Azure administrator for IT program maintenance and IT coursework support.Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with industry representatives and partners.Assist the Interim Dean with the day-to-day monitoring and management of IT program resources to ensure appropriate and optimum utilization.Assist with the pursuit and acquisition of extramural resources.Maintain accurate records relative to all program and School interests.Ensure safe work and learning environments.Serve on committees as requested.Represent the program, School and University in appropriate professional and community organizations and related activities.Coordinate and communicate program activities with the Interim Dean, and other units as appropriate.Fulfill other responsibilities to meet the needs of the program, School and/or OSUIT.

Minimum Qualifications:
    Should possess the credentials necessary to qualify as a faculty member for one of the School's programs; graduate degree(s) highly preferred. Individuals with alternate combinations of credentials and/or experience may be considered.A history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.Two or more years of progressive experience in collaborative management and leadership; experience in higher education administration preferred.Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.Demonstrated success in collaborating with various constituencies.Ability to plan, organize and fulfill complex initiatives.Knowledge of and experience in working with technology.Ability to research and interpret federal, state and institutional policies.Understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing higher education; comprehension of land-grant colleges and universities preferred.Ability to effectively engage community and industry leaders and alumni.Ability to maintain high standards of work, initiative, commitment, ethics, professional responsibility, and judgment.Understanding of qualitative and quantitative data analysis, budgeting, and reporting.Superior interpersonal skills-including the ability to effectively recognize and resolve complex problems in a constructive manner.Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, exercise decorum in all interactions with stakeholders, and be able to effectively recognize and mitigate conflict.Valid Oklahoma driver's license.Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.Travel required.Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
