The Leaves Analyst is a subject matter expert (SME) with regards to the Leaves and Separations processes and ensures that the company is protected from any form of discrimination, lawsuits, etc. stemming from these processes as it is mandated by the Federal Government. This position uses analytical skills to gather facts, review documentation, and determine eligibility in order to process a leave of absence request; reviews and processes manual separation actions that could not flow through Manager Self Service (MSS); and provides support to Publix associates as they navigate the leave of absence or separation process.
Responsibilities include:
determining an associate’s eligibility for a leave of absence and processing all corresponding leave records adhering to rigid timelines. This includes receiving, reviewing, and tracking of medical certifications.
researching and processing initial separation requests, corrections, and cancellations that are unable to flow automatically through Manager Self Service (MSS)
receiving and approving all documentation related to Paid Parental Leave requests and updating the information in SAP to ensure the associate will receive pay for the request
being the primary point of contact for inquiries and issue resolution for associates, their family members, and other Publix internal departments
running and working a wide variety of reports that relate to leave processing and monitoring
High School diploma or equivalent
6 months working in Human Resources or equivalent experience in an analytical related field

Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field
1 year working in Human Resources, or equivalent experience in an analytical related field
knowledge of eligibility requirements for FMLA set forth by the federal government and any other leaves of absence provided by Publix
knowledge of Publix’s Time and Attendance policies
knowledge of the reinstatement process and guidelines for approving and/or denying requests
knowledge of Personnel Records and Leaves Team practices and policies
knowledge of the organizational structure, employee groups/subgroups, personnel areas, and other associate information located in SAP
intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
