JOB DESCRIPTION

What this Department does:

Measurement Engineering ensures optimal performance of instrumentation and electronic flow measurement (EFM) systems, with the ultimate goal of 0.00% pipeline balances.

Major areas of responsibility:

• Design, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and inspection of measurement equipment
• Supporting measurement field personnel with day to day tasks
• Programming of EFM devices for unmanned site controls and monitoring, and interface to SCADA
• Identify and resolve issues effecting pipeline balances
• Subject matter expertise (SME) for flow meters, process transmitters and sensors, sampling systems, online quality/contaminant analysis, lab procedures for quality analysis and assurance

Education:

Student actively enrolled in an approved Bachelor degree program with expected graduation date of December 2024 through December 2025

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

• Proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Passion for innovation and problem-solving, as well as a continuous drive to improve processes.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications and platforms.

Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person/remote hybrid at our Lakewood , CO office. We will host our Summer 2025 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.

Compensation And Other Benefits

• Pay Range $28.65-$30.69 USD Hourly
• You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize housing costs
• The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include overtime pay, paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.

You will work side by side with experienced professionals as contributing members of diverse work teams who bring vision and opportunity to the forefront. As a Tallgrass Intern, you will partner with various departments in support of multiple projects on existing assets and operations, as well as the exploration and development of new avenues and opportunities. The internship is intended to help you develop your work skills and knowledge while providing a link between your educational goals and career objectives.

You can expect to:

• Assist with the development of proactive meter health programs that utilize exception-based monitoring
• Assist with modifying and publishing standard or typical drawings to ensure design consistency
• Develop new query tools to leverage existing data, make it accessible to more users
• Assist with field commissioning trips and site audits
• Build or modify calculation tools for field technicians to use

• Custody transfer measurement practices and related crude oil / natural gas /NGL industry standards
• The nuances of "smart" metering and instrumentation and how they integrate into SCADA systems
• Pipeline industry measurement standards and practices
• Fluid metering and sampling technology
