This hybrid position offers a split-schedule with time in the office or field and work from home.

Who We're Looking For: A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts well to change. You should possess excellent organizational skills and a strong commitment to customer service and safety. The Regional Manager will manage a team of Project Managers; maintain the regional business plan via work assignments, forecasts, and business development connections; as well as conduct a small amount of field work or travel for work events.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's / Master's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
Experience:

3+ years of management experience working in consulting a must.
10+ years of experience in construction risk management with in-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and risk management best practices.
First-hand knowledge of construction due diligence reporting including but not limited to: Plan and Cost Reviews, Property Condition Assessments, and Construction Monitoring Reports.
Understanding of the construction lending process and milestones

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Client and expectation management throughout project life cycle
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to dissect at a situation from multiple viewpoints and the ability to adapt a plan based on changing variables
Authoritative and ability to delegate actions while focusing on the most important
Manage multiple projects or team members simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Understanding of regulatory agencies including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and ASTM practices
OSHA Certified and/or completion of other Safety Courses is a plus
Deep understanding of construction documentation including blueprints, contractor agreements, schedule assessments, and project budgeting.

Other Requirements: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel frequently within the state.


Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will oversee the coordination, growth and profitability of the regional office under their purview including all aspects of client fulfillment, daily operations, quality assurance, efficiency, and infrastructure of their business unit. The Regional Manager drives business by identifying opportunities for client expansion and facilitates cross-selling relationships between the service line groups in the California region. This role involves overseeing the identification, assessment, mitigation of risks associated with construction projects within their assigned region, and close collaboration with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that risk management practices are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Management:

Engage regularly with the Project Managers to discuss their work, challenges, and events impacting them
Respond to internal and external communication in a professional and timely manner
Assign Projects to staff considering skills, location, client requirements, and availability; periodically update management of work flow and project forecasts
Support the individual development of team members with regular touchpoint conversations and skill assessment

Business Unit Management:

Ensure that Corporate policies and procedures are in effect and followed through
Generate financial and workload projections to support regional goals
Support the development of the Collective Business Unit via collaboration with other California Managers and cross-selling opportunities.

Risk Assessment and Management:

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for construction projects, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Monitor and review risk management plans to ensure alignment with company policies and project objectives.
Analyze risk data and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations to project teams.

Project Oversight:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that risk management practices are integrated into project planning and execution.
Periodically visit project sites to assess risk management implementation and provide guidance on corrective actions as needed.
Ensure that Project Managers have support on challenging projects or issues when discussing with Clients.

Training and Development:

Execute and maintain internal training programs and expectations for Project Managers and Subcontractors
Foster a culture of safety and risk awareness throughout the organization.
Create and participate in activities which share or expand the collective Hillmann knowledge.

Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact with Clients on pre-engagement RFP process and on selective projects.
Serve as the secondary point of contact in support of the Project Managers on an as needed basis.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and colleagues to address risk-related concerns and ensure transparent communication.
Regular updates to Executive Vice President regarding the team and business unit's success.
