About the Role: We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our team on the C2BMC JEMINI program, focused on developing future missile defense capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development and experience with command-and-control systems.


Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software applications using Java.


• Provide in-depth analysis and technical support for a large, distributed system.


• Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve system efficiency.


• Design, code, test, and implement tools for automation.


• Assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation.


• Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the codebase.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance (Secret clearance required to start).


• 5+ years of experience in Java development.


• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes of performance issues.


• Effective oral and written communication skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.


• Knowledge of software practices and coding standards.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with command-and-control system application development.


• Familiarity with Java Spring and containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes.


• Experience with automated test and pipeline development.


• Knowledge of server-side development and message passing.


• Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.


• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation.


• Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers.


• Good working knowledge of MS Office products.


• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks.


• Experience working as part of an Agile team.


• Use of common software development and management tools such as Git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and Eclipse.


• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams.

Education and Experience:

• Advanced degree with 7+ years of experience, or bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience, or equivalent.


• Demonstrated expertise in solving complex problems with ingenuity and creativity.


• Experience in project leadership roles and representing the organization on significant technical matters.
