Huggins Hospital is looking for a detail-oriented professional to join a high-performing Strategy Team that includes specialists in Community Relations, Patient Experience, Communications, Community Health, Quality and Philanthropy. The Associate Manager of Philanthropy will have the opportunity to contribute to the goals of a three-year Comprehensive Campaign and use their unique skills to add to the team and contribute to the health of our community. The Associate Manager of Philanthropy at Huggins Hospital is a mid-career philanthropy professional with experience in donor database management, donor acknowledgment, donor recognition tools, direct mail appeals and other aspects of a philanthropy program. Under the direction of the Manager of Philanthropy, this position is responsible for several specific components of the Huggins philanthropy program and general support of a three-year comprehensive campaign. The Associate Manager will be responsible for design and implementation of a new strategic philanthropy outreach program.

Responsibilities

  • Two to four direct mail appeals per year.
  • All aspects of donor database management including gift input and gift acknowledgment.
  • Donor recognition implementation along with Manager of Philanthropy.
  • Expansion of electronic donation tools and working with Marketing on digital platforms on Huggins Hospital website.
  • Research, design and implementation of a Grateful Patient program launch.
  • Responsible for other campaign programs (e.g., Planned Giving or Employee Campaign) as identified.
  • Assistance with Comprehensive Campaign events (kick-off, house parties, etc).
  • Support of philanthropy in general and Comprehensive Campaign specifically as needed/identified.

    Employee Engagement:

    • Actively participates in all hospital Service Excellence initiatives and trainings

    • Attends and participates in a minimum of 50% department staff meetings and signs off on review of 100% department staff meeting minutes

    • Completes all required annual education on or before the due date

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities and possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodation, to safely perform the essential functions of the job.

    • Minimal physical effort required with occasional light lifting to a maximum of 25 pounds; stooping; and pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers

    • Ability to effectively manage considerable mental stress

    • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word

    • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication

    • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and convey information in a clear, concise and accurate manner

    • Familiarity with computer and other business machines

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience in philanthropy. Experience in a health-care setting preferred

    Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational and writing skills. Attention to details a must. Experience with a donor database required

    Hours: M - F days; 8 AM - 4:30 PM with options for hybrid and flexible schedule; occasional need to work evenings and/or weekends for events.
