The Opportunity
Supervise the performance and activity of the maintenance mechanics. This is a working supervisor role that would work side by side with techs and be there to supervise their perspective shift. This person will also be involved with training newer mechanics.
Key Job Responsibilities
Assign tasks to employees and monitor their activities
Ensure maintenance area is neat and organized and that maintenance personnel are following all operational and health and safety procedures
Supervise the preventive maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment
Coordinate all major projects, ex. shut downs
Manage the organization of maintenance shop and parts trailer
Maintain working knowledge of plant equipment
Welding, if qualified
Pipe fitting
Operate plant equipment and repair plant equipment
Assist in performing daily inspections
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
3 to 5 years of mechanical experience in an industrial environment
Knowledge of LOTO procedures
Previous management experience is a plus. The selected candidate will work independently with little to minimal supervision and frequently required to multi-task
Ability to read equipment prints; secure information from OEM manuals; apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and read, understand and apply common operational documents, SOP's, and training modules
The ability to drive a forklift and completion of OSHA lock out/tag out and confined space entry training may be required
The ability to obtain a physician's certification to wear a respirator is required
The candidate must have own tools and valid driver's license
The ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check, are required
